What is the C-Advocate Community Reporting Program?
The C-Advocate Community Reporting (CCR) program empowers everyday Nigerians, especially those in underserved rural communities to document and report issues affecting good governance, human rights, rule of law, and anti-corruption.
Our mission is to:
- Strengthen civic participation
- Promote accountability by amplifying voices from local communities
- Build a network of ethical, solution-driven community reporters
- Bridge the information gap between government and citizens
Who Can Be a Community Reporter?
If you’re passionate about social justice, transparency, and development, this is for you!
Ideal candidates include:
- Youths, students, and community volunteers
- Teachers in local schools, church members, and traders
- Members of CSOs, NGOs, or community groups
- Individuals interested in journalism, civic engagement, or advocacy
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Reside in Nigeria (priority to Southeast region)
- Have access to a smartphone or computer with internet
- Willing to follow C-Advocate’s editorial and ethical guidelines
How to Join the CCR Network

Fill Form
2. Orientation
Receive our reporting guidelines and join our in-person training sessions.
3. Active Engagement
Submit at least two stories weekly to stay active in the network.
Community reporters can cover
- Corruption cases or misuse of public office
- Human rights violations or injustice
- Poor governance issues (education, health, environment, etc.)
- Inspiring stories of citizens promoting accountability
- Development projects, community innovations, or policy impacts
Written Reports
- Length: 250–500 words
- Photo: At least one clear, original photo (720p, landscape)
- Style: Neutral, factual, structured (intro, background, interviews, conclusion)
- Format: Word document, email, or WhatsApp text
Audio Reports
- Length: 2–3 minutes
- Format: MP3 or WAV
- Quality: Clear voice, minimal noise
- Summary: 100-word written overview
Video Reports
- Length: 2–4 minutes
- Resolution: Minimum 720p, landscape mode
- Content: Intro, visuals, interviews/commentary
- Format: MP4 or MOV
